English School’s National Track and Field Athletics Cup Final
The Junior Boys represented the School at the National Finals last Saturday – once again being the only school from the North East of England region to qualify for the Junior Boys. This is the second time the school has managed to achieve this with a Junior Boys team following on from the success of last year.
Having won the Area round and then the County round of this competition Fishers were up against some of the strongest Athletics schools in the country. The team matched the achievement of last year’s team by finishing in an excellent 11th place but actually scored more points.
Despite competing against boys from other schools who had significantly greater physical advantage the boys competed well in all events.
Most impressive on the track was:
Will Hugill (1500m) 4m 39.2 secs
Jacob Anderson Codman (100m) 12.4 secs
Callum Hodgson with a PB in the 1500m – 5m 01. 3 secs
In the Field Events Jacob Anderson Codman achieved a PB in the Triple Jump – 10m.33.
A thoroughly enjoyable day, well done to all the boys.
