“Educate for Life”
As a school community we have identified the six values that are at the centre of who we are as a Catholic School and how we treat each other as members of a Christian family.
We have taken our inspiration from the beatitudes which Jesus taught in His sermon on the mount.
For each value, we have also found inspiration from elsewhere in scripture of what they mean and how to put them into practice.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:36
“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5
“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly you’re your God” Micah 6:8
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Matthew 5:8
“There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3
“Whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:10
“Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.” Mark 9:35
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Matthew 5:9
“‘Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.” Matthew 7:1
The Acronym of our values reminds us that responding to the call of Christ is at the center of all we do.
Through these core CHRIST values, the teachings of Scripture and the Church and Outstanding provision we will Educate for life.
