Year 6 to Year 7 Transition
We want the transition between primary school and secondary school to be as smooth as possible.
That is why our transition starts in Year 5 (and even lower down primary school). There are many opportunities for primary students to come to St John Fisher. This enables them to get a feel of the school, and how we operate. We have students join us from over 20 primary schools. Some are the only child to come from their school. This is why from being accepted we offer a transition which is designed to make the move free of stress.
There are visits to the primary school from our staff. There are visits to our school over a number of days so your child can get used to our operations. We have a long track record of working effectively with students from a wide variety of schools – and do this well.
Mrs Crichton is responsible for transition. If you have any queries, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
St John Fisher offers Masterclasses from a variety of subjects across the curriculum. The classes are offered to all children in Year 5 and 6 from our feeder primary schools and parishes.
The classes usually run for 7 weeks from the beginning of June and take place on either a Wednesday or Thursday 4pm to 5pm at St John Fisher School.
Parent classes are also available, for further details of what classes were offered in 2017, click on the link.
