Disruption of School Due to the Tour de Yorkshire – UPDATE
The disruption will be more significant than first thought and as a result, we have made the decision to close the school at 2.35pm for ALL students on Friday.
School Concert Band for National Festival of Music for Youth
Congratulations to the SJF Concert Band’s invitation to perform in this prestigious event in the Symphony Hall, Birmingham on 5 July.
Y9/Y10 and Y11 Reports
Y11 reports were issued to students yesterday, Tuesday 9 April. Y9 and Y10 reports will be issued to students on Thursday 11 April.
Table Tennis Update
Congratulations and well done to both Fishers B and D teams on reaching the Charity Cup Final.The D Team of Maciej Cwiklinski, Charlie Lockett and Holly Shepherd defeated Harrogate Grammar School A by 26-1.The Fishers B team of Ben Collins, Aman Joshua and Tom Barlow (Ben and Tom for the 2nd year) by defeating Division 1 team Ripley A by 21-10. Date and time of the final TBC.
Post 18 Options Information Evening
All parents and carers of Year 12 students are invited to a presentation on Post 18 options on Wednesday 1st May at 7.00pm in Constance Green Hall, St Aidan’s. This will be an opportunity to find out about Apprenticeships, Higher Education, UCAS and Student Finance and Funding. For more details click on the header or contact the Careers Department.
SJF Candlelighters Easter Appeal – Grand Easter Egg Raffle
We are also having an Easter Egg raffle next Thursday and Friday. Please send your children to school with a £1 and please bring your Easter Egg donation to reception.
Parents’ Information Evening – Wednesday 1 May
The next session is on stress, anxiety and sleep and will be delivered by two Sleep Scotland trained practitioners in the Main Hall from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. All are welcome and the event is free of charge. If you would like to attend this evening, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Masterclasses – 5 June to 4 July
SJF are again offering Masterclasses from a variety of subjects across the curriculum. The classes are over a 5 week period and are offered to all children in Year 5 and 6 from our feeder schools and parishes. See leaflet for details
Y11 Easter School
This will run on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 April from 08:55 to 13:30. Students need to bring a packed lunch and a drink and report to the Main Hall. A separate email has been sent confirming these details.
England Call-Up for Head Girl
Congratulations to our Head Girl, Olivia Cook, who has been selected to represent England in the U18’s Football Camp which includes a match against Scotland U18’s.
