60th Anniversary Jubilee Celebration

03 Jul 2018 | Posted In School Production

Thank you to all involved in the 60th Anniversary Jubilee Celebration at Harrogate Theatre, which was a huge success.  The evening saw stunning performances from students in Year 7-13, plus Primary School choirs, and SJF Alumni Emily Alderson, who is studying at drama school, and Dan Conway and Katy Hewison who are now professional performers.  Many thanks to all the Performing Arts staff who organised the event, plus so many other staff who made the evening possible – through front of house support, making the programme, playing in the bands, and even singing (Mr Mooney from the Maths department did a fantastic turn singing Mack the Knife, dueting with Year 12 student Frankie Bounds.)

The evening was hosted by BBC Radio York presenter Adam Tomlinson, who kept the audience entertained all evening (and updated on the football scores!) We were delighted to have two former Headteachers in attendance, Mr Jackson and Mr Keelan, as well as many of our Governors, staff, and the Mayor of Harrogate.   With over 100 performers in total, it was a truly wonderful evening of performance, and in the words of Head Girl, Olivia Cook, really “epitomised what St John Fisher has to offer.”
