Park Run Breakfast for Martin House – Saturday 23 November
We are delighted to confirm that a sum of £1,350 has now been handed over to Martin House in Wetherby. We wish to thank everyone who supported the event, click on the header for a full report.
The Great Fishers Bake Off
There were some fantastic cakes made for the Bake Off yesterday and £115 was raised. Beth and Kate Playford’s cake came 1st, Lin-Ay Varnes was 2nd and Gemma Dibdin 3rd. Thank you to all bakers and those who bought the lovely treats.
Harvest Tin Collection
We are delighted to confirm that 2,600+ tins of food have been taken over to St.Pio’s Friary Bradford. The response this year has been phenomenal, well beyond previous years, driven by the energy of the staff and generosity on the part of all. The Brothers wish to express their gratitude to all in the SJF community. Congratulations to all the students in 7B who collected the highest amount of tins.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Mr Brockwell, Headteacher presented a cheque for £632 to Becky Read representing Macmillan Nurses – the proceeds from the school’s “World’s Greatest Coffee Morning” effort held at the end of September. Pictured with Mr Brockwell are Mrs Knight and SJF students.
Wellbeing Champions Cake Sale
The cake sale held on Tuesday 22 October raised £120 for MIND – thank you to all who baked and bought cakes raising money for this worthwhile charity.
PTA Quiz Night – Friday 8 November

Soup Kitchen – St Pio’s Friary, Bradford
It’s that time of year again!! The soup kitchen is run by an amazing group of Franciscan Friars supported entirely by donations. We are again enlisting your help this year. Soup, Beans, tomatoes – any tin that can be stored will be put to good use. Closing date 24 October – let’s see if we can beat last year’s donation of 2,000 tins!
Good Shepherd Appeal 2019
Bishop Marcus and Catholic Care thank the staff and students of SJF
Natasha Abbott and Emily Jennings have raised £400 for the Children’s Cancer Unit crafts area at the LGI. Emily and Natasha organised the fundraising themselves and have had a team of Y9 bakers supporting them. The array of cakes was exceptional and they were available over three break times this week which were well supported by staff and students. Emily will be hand delivering the money raised to the unit. Congratulations to all who made and bought cakes.
