Private Instrumental Music Tuition Service at SJF

Details of the school instrument music service have now been released and we encourage all parents and carers to check out the details. Students who were having lessons last year also need to re-register so they can be put on the timetable for tuition. Lessons are provided by the in-house peripatetic team at St. John Fisher and start at £65 per term.The deadline for all students wanting to start lessons to start this term is this Friday (18th September) at 3pm. The Carols by Candlelight service at St. John Fisher is one of the school highlights of the year. In preparing to celebrate the coming of the Saviour, we hold a traditional nine lessons and carols service in our beautiful chapel. Performing Arts Success

We are delighted to announce that three St John Fisher’s students have been cast in Harrogate Theatre’s pantomime production of ‘Snow White’ which opens this Friday 29th November.  Zuzanna Filarska a Year 9 student and Phoebe Turnbull and Zsofia Ther both Year 8 students, will be puppeteering dwarves Happy, Sneezy and Sleepy in nearly 40 performances over Christmas and the New Year.  Congratulations to all three of them and we wish them the best of luck in the show!

National Brass Band Finals Success

Congratulations to Y8 student Archie Hall who competed with Tewit Silver Band at the National Brass Band Finals last Saturday. The Band had already won the Regional Championships in March 2019. The hard work, commitment and determination paid off when they became 4th Section National Champions. Archie Hall was an amazing ambassador for the band and SJF school.

“SJF Summer Showcase to send Iris to NYT”

SJF are delighted to host a summer showcase evening on Monday 1st July at 6.30pm in G18, to raise money to help send Y9 student Iris Wall to the National Youth Theatre this summer. Iris won a place on NYT and needs to raise £1500 to do the summer course.  Iris and her family, along with SJF, have organised a talent-filled summer showcase, to help raise funds. Tickets £5 to be bought on ParentPay, raffle and refreshments also available.
