Many of  our sixth form students gain an EPQ qualification in addition to their A levels.

What is the EPQ?

EPQ is an exciting qualification that allows students to pursue their own academic interests to AS level. Students decide on their own topic of study, set their own assessment question and work independently towards producing a final piece – either a dissertation, field study, original artefact or a performance.

Universities have responded very favourably to the introduction of the EPQ as they feel it allows students to demonstrate key skills that they will need when they begin undergraduate study.

EPQ is a highly rewarding qualification that allows students to set their own academic agenda, pursue areas of particular interest and go beyond the boundaries of exam specifications.

EPQ Presentation Event – 24 April 2018

In April we held our first ever EPQ showcase which was a resounding success. Over 140 students participated and the quality of work on show was astonishing with many projects far exceeding what could reasonably be expected of students at this stage in their academic journey. We were delighted to welcome so many staff and parents and it was great to see the students receive the recognition they deserve for all their hard work. Thanks are due in particular to the supervisors who have encouraged and supported the students in their efforts and to everyone who helped to make the evening such a success.
