Tom Plant – Swim Wales National Squad

Tom attended the Swim Wales National Squad training camp last weekend at the national pool in Swansea.

Tom started formal training at 6yrs old with Harrogate & District Swimming Club and began competing at 9. As Tom has developed he has won several individual and relay medals at Yorkshire county level and regional medals at the NERs (North Eastern Region). The North Eastern Region is currently acknowledged as the strongest region in England. Tom has also managed to win two medals at a national level at the Swim Wales National events. Although much of last season was blighted by illness and injury Tom managed to win two silver medals in breaststroke and medley events at the Yorkshire championships and qualified for multiple finals at regional level. At the start of this season Tom received news that his performances had earned him national  selection and membership of the Swim Wales Academy Squad. Tom regards this as his biggest achievement to date and, although it involves a 700 miles round trip for each training camp and competitive meet, he is looking forward to the opportunities national selection will give him.
